Competence centres
Globethics Competence Centres are higher education institutions or research centres with a particular focus on teaching, learning, research, publications or library content curation in our strategic focus areas.
They serve as hubs for cutting-edge ethics research, fostering global collaboration to advance knowledge and improve the integration of ethics in education, governance, and professional practice. These centres bring together leading institutions and experts committed to high-level research in key ethical fields, creating an international network that informs teaching, learning, and policy development.

With an agreement on a three-year research agenda, signed by representatives of the leadership of the Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes) and Globethics in November 2023, Globethics launched the first Comptence Centre with a focus on Ethics in Higher Education, marking a new period in its organisational life and worldwide partnership engagement to spearhead international, collaborative research.
The Competence Centre is designed to address regionally and thematically relevant ethical challenges while contributing to global discussions. Through interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research, they explore practical applications of ethics across curricula, professional standards, and institutional frameworks.
By engaging researchers, educators, and policymakers worldwide, Globethics Competence Centres facilitate knowledge exchange, comparative studies, and collaborative initiatives to strengthen ethical standards across sectors. Institutions and individuals interested in participating in these research initiatives are invited to connect with the Globethics Academy team at [email protected].
