AI Ethics is a core topic in the 2023-2027 strategy of Globethics. Globethics already published several related books: “Cyber Ethics 4.0” (2018), “AI Ethics in Higher Education”, “Data Ethics” (2023) and the Policy dialogue report: “Inclusive AI for a Better Future” (2024). This event celebrates the launch of a new Globethics Publication "AI Governance Ethics", edited by Christoph Stückelberger, María Merchán Rocamora, Pavan Duggal, and Divya Singh.

AI is a strong global hype growing with enormous speed. The call for deciding soon on legal regulations and voluntary standards is strong. This volume aims at calling for qualified and ethically balanced AI regulations and standards. The volume offers a mapping of discussion and efforts on AI regulations; it proposes to offer a collection of proposals on AI regulations from national to international level. It focuses in particular on the progress made on ethical benchmarks. As key take away the work is proposing recommendations for decision-makers and educators.

This book launch event will take place on the STADIO Centurion Campus (5 Panfluit Street, Eco Park Estate, Centurion 0144, South Africa) and will be livestreamed via Zoom. For onsite registrations, email Southern Africa Regional Manager Carike Noeth: [email protected]. RSVP needed for in-person attendants by 7 October 2024. For online registration, click View event.
