Launch of the Ethical Leadership and Investment for a Sustainable Future Manual
The African Church Assets Programme (ACAP) V is the fifth phase of a programme focusing on strengthening African Church institutions in the ethical management of resources and investments and in local policy and standard setting. The culmination of this phase was the development of Key Learning Instrument/Tool (known as the Ethical Leadership and Investment for a Sustainable Future Manual) geared towards the presenting tools churches and church-related organisations would use as a guide. In today's dynamic and complex social and business environment, the concepts of ethical leadership and responsible investment have gained significant traction, sparking thoughtful discussions and debates within boardrooms and academic circles alike.
As we navigate through an era of heightened social consciousness and environmental awareness, the imperative for organisations to adopt ethical leadership practices and sustainable investment strategies has never been more pronounced. As a guiding principle, ethical leadership emphasises the importance of aligning the decision-making processes with core values and principles that uphold integrity, transparency, and respect for stakeholders. Leaders who espouse ethical leadership foster a culture of trust and accountability, inspiring their teams to act with honesty and fairness in all their endeavours. By championing ethical conduct and moral courage, these leaders set a compelling example for others to follow, creating a ripple effect that permeates the organisation and beyond.
This event, co-organised by Globethics, All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), CORAT Africa and Bread for the World, is an opportunity to launch and share the newly developed manual which provides essential tools to guide church leaders, church-related organisations, and stakeholders on ethical leadership and responsible investment strategies. By promoting transparency, accountability, and responsibility in leadership and financial management, we believe that this manual will contribute to the overall mission and vision of institutions both public and private.
