Responsible leadership in the digital era
At the end of August, Globethics Southern Africa Regional Manager Carike Noeth and Academic Dean Amélé Ekué travelled to Mauritius for an inspiring few days at ShiftXchange Conference hosted by Middlesex University Mauritius.
ShiftXchange provided a platform for academics, practitioners, and industry leaders to discuss and explore innovative strategies and technologies shaping leadership in the digital age. It emphasised interdisciplinary dialogue, shared insights, and collaboration to address leadership challenges and opportunities, focusing on practical applications and real-world impacts in the digital landscape.
Dr Noeth led a workshop on "Responsible Leadership in the Digital Era" which kicked off the first day of the conference. The in-depth session saw dynamic discussions on the transformation and development of leadership, on how digital technology has developed over the years and, on leadership in the digital era.
Following the publication of the ICDE Leadership Summit 2024 Policy Report on Navigating the Future of Higher Education with AI and in the run-up to the panel on AI and education at Global Ethics Forum 2024, Dr Ekué was a panelist in the session on "Workplace AI and Technology", focusing on AI’s impact on higher education.
The ShiftXchange Conference was co-organised with Middlesex University and Globethics' longtime collaboration partner STADIO Holdings, with whom Globethics is also organising upcoming events in South Africa: Book Launch: AI Governance Ethics.
